2020 Vision

By 2020, we are trusting God for 8-10 fully-funded, fully-trained Puerto Rican Nationals giving leadership to win-build-send Athletes in Action campus movements in Puerto Rico that will begin to impact the Caribbean and Latin America with gospel through sport.

History

2010
  • Athletes in Action was invited by Luis Dieppa the General Secretary for the Puerto Rico Olympic Committee and President of the Track and Field Federation to launch AIA on every campus and among elite athletes across the Island.
2012
  • Athletes in Action Campus Ministry officially adopts Puerto Rico as a Partnership Country to launch win-build-send movements at every university in Puerto Rico using the five stage partnership strategy.

1. Spring Break Outreach Trips
2. Summer Project - Extreme Challenge Puerto Rico
3. STINT (1-2 Year Internship)
4. International Campus Staff (3-5 Year)
5. National Puerto Rican Staff

2012-2017

  • 500+ AIA staff and students sent to Puerto Rico on Spring Break Mission Trips and Extreme Challenge Puerto Rico summer project.
  • 2 STINT teams sent between 2014-2016

2020 Challenge

As an AIA campus ministry will you join what God is doing by taking ownership of the partnership?

Four Levels of Ownership

1. Promote - Promote AIA opportunities for your staff and students to go to Puerto Rico with Spring Break Trips, Extreme Challenge Puerto Rico (2 week summer project), STINT (1-2 years), or International Campus Staff (3-5 years).

2. Challenge - All level 1 plus personally challenging 3 staff and 15+ student to go on one or more of the AIA opportunities in Puerto Rico.

3. Go - All level 1 & 2 plus personally serving as a staff member on one of the AIA opportunities in Puerto Rico.  (Prioritize Puerto Rico when you fill out your opportunity request form.)

4. Lead - All level 1-3 serving on the Leadership Team to an AIA opportunity in Puerto Rico.  (If you serve on the Leadership Team as a Director or Operations leader with a Spring Break Team or ECPR it automatically counts as your opportunity with AIA.)
  • Leading a Spring Break Team
  • Leading Extreme Challenge Puerto Rico
  • Leading a STINT team
